Wrapper Logic
bright and restless
YY saw the flash from three trees away and distrusted it immediately.
Hard white. Gone. Hard white again.
He froze on the bark. "If you are food, you are doing it wrong."
The silver wrapper flipped in the grass whenever the wind caught one corner. It looked like water, then teeth, then nothing. Every small creature near the path kept glancing at it and losing track of what they had been doing.
YY dropped down, approached in a wide circle, and pounced when the flash turned away. The wrapper crinkled under his paws. Terrible texture. No nutrition. Very bossy.
He dragged it to a pebble and pinned it flat. The meadow relaxed by one tiny notch.
Then, because the wrapper was shiny and useless and apparently his problem now, YY checked under it. One seed.
"Ha," he said. "Administrative snack."
He ate the seed and left the wrapper trapped where it could stop shouting at everyone.
YY investigated the wrapper flash, pinned it safely, and found a small food reward under the distraction.

YY chased down the flashing wrapper, pinned it under a pebble, and turned the distraction into one usable seed.
